My lifetime spent with you I loved
Though brief it seems mom I thought of
Each day since pup when I was young
That's you mommy on my heart strung
Play time became less of me old
As aged became of young time stole
You meant the world to me back then
As I to you, your dear best friend
You named me Zoey and I would play
A major role for years I stayed
Under your wing as there I'd feel
Protected, loved, no one could steal
You scratched my belly when I would Sun
By pool side lounge we tanned as one
Popcorn, Bananas, my favorite treats
As Queen I ruled on couch our seat
In charge I was of my Kingdom
Of pets Sandy's and Jimmy your son
Some would say I bullied them
To will my own to mines they'd bend
Though time did come to say goodbye
Please do not hurt nor sigh or cry
For it was great while I was there
Zoey my name your heart shall bare
Love Zoey
Written for my friend Dawn who recently lost
her pet French Bulldog Zoey
