An Angel Finds Her Wings

An Angel Finds Her Wings

Yes, Oh yes 'Great I Am' I hear your calling
Is it really time for me now to go
The touch of sun and stardust softly falling
Has now found my wings to be fully grown

The fairies have a legend
That when the stardust leaves the sky
The hawk rests with the pigeon
And angels learn to fly

This beautiful place on earth you've granted me
I have embraced and loved most of all
A kingdom placed beneath the stars
Visible only if you listen for its call

I have sat beside the water's edge
Just listening to the words it sings
Strong is its voice ... it does not hedge
In love and light the fairies blessings bring

The fairies teach their lessons
With the sweetness of their smiles
They say they have to have the best ones
For they will be passed on to a child

I leave my friends now sleeping
Until the sun bids them to rise
To the sound of a dove that is weeping ...
... To an angel that has learned how to fly
