“Good Life”
It’s four AM and sleep won’t come again!
I can’t turn off the past, the yesterday’s that’s gone so fast!
Days of wine and roses, sunshine and dreams of tomorrow that
have already come and gone.
Where are all the lovely people, where have they all gone?
Gone with the winds of time and there’s no more tomorrow’s in this little rhyme.
There are those we still love and love is everlasting, so forget me not!
Forgetfulness and confusion rule the day, lonelness rules the dark of night.
I can feel the heat of his breath upon my neck and hear his footsteps upon the sands of time, the end is near!
But, that’s alright, for it’s been over three quarters of a century of good life!
