The Magic of Their Innocence

Their childhood laughter fills the air
As excitedly they play
For the magic of their innocence
Has yet to slip away.

But they must leave behind those years
And accept the reality
That yesterday is dead and gone
No more to ever be.

And learn that life is difficult
Very often, quite unfair
That evil men who pose as saints
Are lurking everywhere.

To strip them of their joyfulness
When they no longer play
And the magic of their innocence
Has long since slipped away.
