'' I'm Talking To Me ''
When I've binged,
I'm no longer sane,
I become unhinged,
I cause others pain.
It's the drink I say,
That's my excuse,
It's yourself you betray,
It's a form of abuse.
At times I'm deranged,
I will not accept blame,
Nothing has changed,
You refuse to feel shame?
Why do I do it?
Purely for pleasure,
You just can't see through it,
I live for a measure.
My family and friends,
Have all disappeared,
Only an idiot defends,
Placing loved ones in tears.
It's not my fault,
You all misunderstand,
The drink you exalt,
It is now out of hand.
I'm in total control,
When I can remember,
You have lost your soul,
You're a burnt-out ember.
I'm in a conversation,
But I refuse to agree,
What a bizarre sensation,
' I'm Talking To Me '
