The darkness surrounds you,
As flood water covers;
And you cannot see through,
Acting like lost lovers.
Is not God high above?
Higher than any star;
The flowing of His love,
Falls to earth from afar.
You ask, "What does God know?"
Hiding behind a cloud;
How can the judgment show?
To all those in the crowd.
Dark clouds surrounding Him,
So that He cannot see;
With such vigor and vim,
He knows where you will be.
Do you walk the old path?
That wicked people take;
Fair warning of His wrath,
Expect Him to forsake.
They are then snatched away,
Way long before their time;
For they have gone astray,
Because of all their crime.
They said, "Leave us alone,"
So what can the Lord do;
The Lord does not condone,
This kind of talk from you.
They lost their foundation,
As the flood waters flow;
And lost their salvation,
His glory will not show.
The righteous saw and glad,
Innocent laugh to scorn;
To see that all the bad,
Have disappeared by morn.
Their wealth has been wiped out,
Fire consumed what was left;
And there has been no doubt,
The Lord ensured its theft.
