Penniluck's legacy
Brand New Start
To my lovely son Donald on his 40th birthday on 10/5/17. Happy birthday my laddie love always hugs Mum and Star xxx
My boy I just cannot believe
It is so hard just to conceive
That tiny baby is full grown
But my son I`ll always own
Your birth was long and full of fear
You almost did not make it here
But God was good and you survived
I was so glad to be alive
For many years I heard your cries
And I would sing you lullabies
If you close your eyes and sleep
And you promised not to weep
Sad movies and that good night me
Hour on hour I`d sing to thee
Until your eyes would close at last
You suffered much in your young past
But then I noticed as you grew
The music seemed to dance in you
Month by month and year by year
Your lovely voice was what I`d hear
Then you learned to play guitar
You my son should be a star
You met the woman of your dreams
And soon will wed her so it seems
Children follow you around
Listening to that magic sound
Of music as they go to sleep
And you teach them not to weep
Forty years have flown on by
Yet I still sing that lullaby
Of love that I still hold for you
Yes my laddie that is true
Do not be afraid of age
As you turn this special page
Forty is a brand new start
Live it now with all your heart
Have a lovely day today
Hear these special words I say
Life can be great it`s up to you
These words I say are very true
May this year bring only joy
To my youngest bonnie boy.
