 Maddog's Poetry

The trans thing doesn’t matter, you are my child, I love you more than you know
Your exact words after I came out to you
A common motto
Actions speak louder than words
Clearly, you have forgotten that

After I came out all you have done
Forcing me to still be your little girl
Anything I do or wear that suggests otherwise
You smirk at, freak out about, and yell at me about
All because you can’t accept that I am your son
You claim you’re not controlling

Think about your actions
Forcing one of your one kids not be who they really are
So, you don’t have to accept that one of the kids isn’t a cisgender
You always knew I was different
Starting when I only wanted guy things
Legos, sweats, grand theft auto, footballs
You ask me why I want to leave so badly

Have you ever thought to ask yourself that?
Could I have done anything differently?
If I love him why can’t I accept that he’s no longer my daughter?
I know this isn’t what you ever imagined
This is life
Sometimes you get thrown a curveball
All your son wants is for you accept, love, and let hi be who he is
Let him be
who he is
