Sleep well my love

Breath in the sweet deep perfumed air,

The hour is late, soft auburn hair,

You can't go home, you'll stay the night?

For you my love, I pledge my life.

The night is long, I'll watchman be,

There'll be no ghosts come frighten thee,

No villains from the past unlocked,

It's over now, all will be stopped.

The ghosts of older times perhaps,

Have caught thee in their snares and traps

But I say halt! No more of that,

I've paid your bond, you're free at last.

The badlands of a bad man's mind,

Have no place here nor on this night,

Nor in the nights still yet to come,

Not now that I have pledged my love.

I pledge my love to keep thee safe,

You'll not be used again as bait,

Your pimps left town, he's slung his hook,

Now close your eyes, sleep well my love.
