Little Things Mean A Lot

Little Things Mean A Lot

Just a silly little ceramic frog

That sits atop a bottle of perfume

No bigger than a quarter

I don't even remember where I got you

Over the years you have moved with us

Lived with us through our good times and bad

Smiled with me when I was happy

Cried with me when I was sad

I was dusting you this morning

And it occurred to me

How the simplest of our treasures

Can bring to our hearts such glee

Just a silly little ceramic frog

That would break the heart of me

If when I walked into my bathroom

Your face I would no longer see

You have gone from California

Then to Arizona's desert sands

We ended up in Reno Nevada

And Oops Las Vegas was too at hand

When we lost everything we owned there

(not because of gambling LOL)

You still had a home

Once again you were packed

And we were on the roam

I know I've missed some of your traveling

Geesh I can't keep up with me

So tiny you are wrapped in tissue

When once again a moving box you see

When we land I find the box marked BATHROOM

And search out my trusted friend

Have you made the journey in one piece

To help us try again

Just a silly little ceramic frog

That sits upon a bottle of perfume

I bet that my friends that are reading this

owns someone just like you

It sometimes just takes a reminder

Such as dusting an old friend

To remember where we came from

All the places and times that we have been

Thank you for reminding me

Not to always dwell on what I have not

But to be thankful for what I have

For little things sure mean a lot

Just a silly little ceramic frog

That sits upon a bottle of perfume?
