'' They Don't Ever Change ''
When partners combine,
It can be divine,
It is truly a joy to behold,
If both are content everything's fine,
On each other you're sold.
When two become one,
Life can be fun,
A partnership where both are at peace,
Sadly, for some they become undone,
When you they refuse to release.
It becomes control,
They dig a dark hole,
Your personality they slowly erode,
Before you know it they've taken your soul,
You can no longer carry the load.
Where have you been,
Who have you seen,
Your life is no longer your own,
That partner you saw as loving and serene,
To fits of temper, they then become prone.
They give you strife,
Want control of your life,
You no longer see family and friends,
Some things they say can cut like a knife,
Their animosity just never ends.
If under attack,
You mustn't crack,
Your life was given to enjoy,
Just walk away and never look back,
Your spirit you need to deploy.
Is this what you see?
Then listen to me,
What they're doing will eventually derange,
From their abuse, you need to break free,
They'll get worse,
