A Soldiers Wife

A Soldier's Wife

Oh Dear Lord I humbly pray

For strength to make it through this day

As I lay to rest my heart . . . . My soul

Can you find a way my hand to hold

Oh Dear Lord I come to you

The car to take me will be here soon

As I stand between

What was ... and What will be

It is the 'What Is'

That I now must live

To be my reality

For freedom's call he gave his life

Lord . . .

I am proud to be a Soldier's wife

But I am not sure I can sit today

Before the ground where he will lay

His coffin draped in red white and blue

The soldier that did what he chose to do

But therin too will lay the mortal man

With the hand that wore our wedding band

Upon the winds that mournful song

Oh Lord . . . . Please . . . .

Help me to be strong

For I AM A US Soldier's wife

... oh ... how am I

To make it to this night

The car is here Lord

I have to go

Please somehow help the world to know

That freedom comes at great sacrifice

Please help me Lord
