 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

O Lord, please hear my prayer,
Let me cry unto You;
Show me how much You care,
Acknowledge what is true.

Please do not hide Your face,
At this time of trouble;
Let me feel Your embrace,
Pull me from the rubble.

Incline Your ear towards me,
And answer me quickly;
Open Your eyes to see,
I have become sickly.

My days fade out like smoke,
My bones burn like hot coals;
Almost felt like a stroke,
Lost my will and my goals.

My heart is beaten down,
And has withered like grass;
My smile now a frown,
My eyes like broken glass.

O where is my Eden,
I am just skin and bones;
Since I have not eaten,
My stomach makes loud groans.

I am like the barn owl,
That lives in the wasteland;
Looking for smaller fowl,
On the deserted sand.

I lie awake at night,
Like a small lonely bird;
On a roof till daylight,
Waiting to hear His Word.

My enemies insult,
Ridicule as they curse;
Making it difficult,
It cannot get much worse.

I know He will respond,
God will not scorn my prayer;
Like those who abandoned,
For I know He does care.
