My Life (post divorce and empty nest) in Sonnets

Under a Piscean Moon

Original Contemporary Poetry by author, Jean Parr

“Under a Piscean Moon”

I crave the ocean like a hopelessly desirous woman
The colliding waves immediately restore my mood
Born genetically, an Englishwoman,
Sometimes I am perceived a prude

Like the interminably ravenous seagull, I yearn for approval
But sand between my toes causes all stress in my body to fade
Only the ocean demands the removal,
Of what leads my heart and mind to be swayed

I close my eyes and feel the warmth of the sun on my face
I smell the salty ocean air and can't help myself but melt
A victim of time and space,
Reeling with the hand I was dealt

I am a fire sign and a Pisces moon sign of water
I am a woman, but also my father's daughter
