110,806 poems read

This poem appeared in January 1994 issue of Anterior Poetry Monthly out of St Louis…. It is about those days  (mid 1980’s) when John and I were living at Valley House North of Albuquerque and I was raising all kinds of birds…I loved those birds especially Gonzo.

DAY POEM

My poem today is how I move—
       My thoughts as I move
And the objects my eyes touch
As they sweep the surfaces around me

I wanted to work on art and poetry today
But first I made the beds
Took a shower
And washed the dishes

My poem to is how I move

Then I drove to the feed store for grain
To feed turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese
Then I had to stop at the bank
Drive home to feed the birds
Take down and fold the laundry
Grab frozen dinner bite to eat
Make some phone calls
Leave for work
I wanted to work on art and poetry today

My poem today is how I move
