Poetic-Verses
DREAMS OF NYSC
They all filled the field
Hungry, dirty, tired –
Ready to obey orders
Sweating and discomforted
By the early morning wind
If I had my bath once
In a day, it was okay
Stool upon stool in the midst of stool
In the lands and bushes of stool
My jaw filled with unkempt beard,
Waiting for the barber in the queue
Sleeping for thirty minutes,
Given tasteless food and
Waking so early with the
Kerosene-like discomforting sweat
On the skin – NYSC
What a thing!
Hungry, dirty, tired –
Ready to obey orders
Sweating and discomforted
By the early morning wind
If I had my bath once
In a day, it was okay
Stool upon stool in the midst of stool
In the lands and bushes of stool
My jaw filled with unkempt beard,
Waiting for the barber in the queue
Sleeping for thirty minutes,
Given tasteless food and
Waking so early with the
Kerosene-like discomforting sweat
On the skin – NYSC
What a thing!
