Songs of Life
Remember Me
I thought about you yesterday while I waited for my flight.
The silky yellow of your shoulder length hair,
How it feels to caress your neck with my nose,
Such a light and delicate fragrance of rose behind your ear.
I thought about you last night as I soared among the clouds.
The satin smoothness of your hips under my finger tips,
The warmth of your touch on the small of my back,
Your finger nails raking the hair on my chest.
I thought about you today as I stood in line for lunch.
The gentle touch of your fingers in mine tracing my palm,
Listening to your heart with my head on your breast,
The warm moist as you explore my ear.
I thought about you this afternoon as I drove home in the rush.
The color changing in your eyes as your emotions erupt.
Your whisper enticing me to stay home from work,
The way you hide your mouth when you get the hiccups.
I think about you now as I sit alone in the dark.
Life seems unkind after the passing.
But still I smile as the memories play out,
I long for your voice in the final stillness.
