Songs of Life
The Consuming Fire of Love
Were do I find all the joy and the passion
that a man and a woman possess when they are in love?
How do I reach that place where a smile takes the place of the sun?
When I talk with you, when I look at you , my heart wells with emotion,
Emotions that I'm not quite capable of understanding,
Yet I am overwhelmed by the power that rages through my veins.
To be part of you, part of life, is a gift bestowed not lightly.
To see the softest shade of red in a sunset fade to purple,
Like the gently fading notes of a glockenspiel echoing in my mind,
the whisper of longing in your voice is a never ending magical embrace.
My heart bleeds with every beat and I appreciate the wonder,
Like flames in the fireplace, mesmerizing, leaving haunting thoughts,
Memories of sharing that gift which is so unabashedly displayed as we strive for immortality.
Where do I find these things if not with you?
