My Life (post divorce and empty nest) in Sonnets

No Life Without Cost

Original Contemporary Poetry by author, Jean Parr

“No Life Without Cost”

Overcast or desert wind, the sun can't decide
Where do I fit, between rocks or among ocean breezes?
Waves crashing or mellow water, the moon clarified
Restlessness, urges, and unease

Walking along the sandy shore
Wondering and taking stock of my life's fate
Sunrise after sunset, always wanting more
Searching for my soul mate

Like a steady burning fire, stoked by the imagination of my mind
A feminine knowledge and power within
The ever changing tides, as shifty as my moods align
It will take someone of great power to let me in

Lonely, but not lost
There's no life without cost
