Fly Away
Birds are flying high in the sky
Why can't I?
I won't deny,
I need to fly away.
I'll come back another day.
Things will be fresh and new.
I won't feel so blue.
Birds can I fly away with you?
No one has a clue,
Of all that I am going through.
This pain in my heart.
Has torn me apart.
I've been holding on tight.
One day I will see light.
All I see is dark.
Grief has left its mark.
Birds flying high in the sky,
Can I fly away with you? I want to know why.

The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to the poet.
