Please teach me, O Lord,
To live by your Law;
Not to be ignored,
Causing me to flaw.
I want to obey,
To the very end;
I wish not to stray,
Nor try to offend.
Help me understand,
Follow what you taught;
Do as you command,
Do as you have sought.
I will always guard,
With all of my heart;
Never to discard,
So I can impart.
Lead me on the path,
Of your commandments;
Spare me from Your wrath,
Not abandonments.
For I am happy,
I am glad with them;
Direct and snappy,
To never condemn.
Direct my heart toward,
Your heavenly Word;
Forsake me not Lord,
Let Your teaching heard.
Rather than the wealth,
In corrupted ways;
My spiritual health,
Lost as the soul strays.
Turn me from vile,
Worthless things in life;
From earthly style,
That causes the strife.
Promise unto me,
So that I can fear;
And insight to see,
You are always near.
