 Poems for Lovers and Sinners

Among the Fragments

I found you brother within the dust and
sandy dunes of the desert.
The limbs I once kissed as a child bloodied
cold and still in this desolate place…

I tried to wipe the tears away from my eyes
that fell upon your once sweet face, now all
there is showing before me is a look of horror
and pain:

The filtering white dust that echo within winds
above you, now rise and die away silently –
Yes I found you brother, but only the shell I knew.
Where is the rest I once loved?
