Veteran's are everywhere
The man sitting next to you
We are no particular race
All who serve embrace
Past wars are history
No one embraces slavery
Black is the color of my true loves hair
Americans are mixed blood
Throw out the illegals in the mud
Canada is not the northern border of Mexico
I was in a Casino--gambling?
Getting old limits fun
I call it giving back to the Native American Indians
I was sitting next to one
A Indian native that is! A veteran
Whose pride was a purple heart
We shared being veterans
Three young punks walked by
They are the ones being served
The President was on the TV
He was talking about giving back to the Vets
Don't mess with me you well have regrets
One of the punks yelled out,
You fill in the blanks, "---the Veterans!"
First off it was his language there were ladies present
Second he forgot to salute the flag
I raised up and said, "Heres one--bring it on!!"
The guy next to me raised up. "You need backup?"
"Im a ex-marine combat veteran with a purple heart."
Two rows down two men stood up saluted
All brothers wearing the same colors
They were Veteran brothers
The boys rear ends about to be booted
One of the kids walked over,
"Sorry Sir, my dad is a veteran. They are just drunk."
The point is you don't mess with Veterans
At near eighty it was only courage getting me up
old or not wasn't taking anything from that pup
Truth is in the Casino I would still put my money on a Veteran.
Because the little punk looked at me a little scared
And for this time a coward so who cared
A combat vet next to me a beating the kid was spared
Love of Jesus red white and blue shared
Brown was the color of little Bobby Brown
I love him as my best friend
He was eight the day he drowned
