The Backyard Of My Life
Talking To The Gypsy Girl
I was talking to the gypsy girl
About fame and fortune
How i was born under a bad sign
On the dark side of the moon
Her hands where on fire
She read my palm passed me a dream
Tied a ribbon round my wrist
The prettiest girl id ever seen
She pulled out some pixie dust
Rubbed it under her eyes
She said don't ask me any questions
I wont tell you no lies
Gazing into her little shiny crystal ball
She told me to throw a stone to shatter
The glass wall
I let her see inside my soul
To break the spell that i was sold
She said there's a silver lining
Everything you touch turns to gold
She handed me a daisy chain
With a wishing book
Whispered you can see yourself
If You take the time to look
She said your future was written
In the seeds of the past
Touching the void of the unknown vast
Looked me up and down as she lifted back the veil
Told me to jump on deck let the ship set sail
I was talking to the mystical child
About the illusion of space and time
When she sparked up a cigarette
With her rosey red wine
She started blowing smoke rings up into the sky
She said its now or never its time to do or die
She told me to meet her at the rainbows end
Talking to the gypsy girl
I had finally found a friend
Now am not really sure if what she said
Will all turn out to be true
I was talking to the gypsy girl
But Whats a poor boy to do
I was talking to the gypsy girl
I was talking to the gypsy girl
I was talking to the gypsy girl
