Sorry you are alcoholic
You had a choice
We all do
My choice is to not support your insane habits
I am sorry you are into cocaine
Marijuana is a weed that smokes you
You had a choice
It went up in smoke!
A reason they refer to you as a dope
When the lungs begin burning
Only then well you be learning
I am sorry you are into Heroin
Addicted to being brain dead
Sorry you are hooked on cigarettes
Coughing goal to be on oxygen
You could read the labels
Don't blame me when reality sets in
You don't know you say?
Haven't had to make my choices!
Yes I do know but I read the warning labels
You have never been poor like me!
Born of a Father alcoholic Wino
Took care of Sister home boarded up
In my youth raised my fist
To protect my Mom from abuse
picked beans, strawberries, mowed lawns
Before the age of ten
Wasn't the brightest in school
I knew I had a few learning disabilities
Mom paid rent
Father came and robbed the rest
But for school lunches we had liffle food
Sis ate what I brought home in my pocket
If you are homeless
I know it is not always your fault
But what I do know is
Seattle was once a beautiful clean city
You leave trash all over
You pay no bills to pay for your addictions
Most of you came here for free Welfare
Because I know jobs can be had
I sometimes worked three low paying jobs to survive
Container Corporation, Greyhound, Fisher flower Mill
I swept flower from floor to floor
My work ethic was hard to ignore
Lied about my age to Join National Guard
Still in high school sixteen serving my country
and found time to take Jr college classes in poetry
Picked wild blackberries sold them in coffee cans
Asked neighbors for apples falling on the ground
Mom made pies we sold door to door
And yes I was told I was a bum
Poorly dressed in shoes masking taped
And yes this bum served his country proudly
saved enough to go to college
Proud that he made it better for
all my kids and Grand kids who well not know poverty
I know most of you are not even from this area
You come from other places you have destroyed
You rob and steal and murder innocents and each other
I help those I can
But i do not fall for those who don't help themselves
And you know you are easy to spot
You all have expensive tattoos, cigarettes drugs
A stolen cell phone or two and even weapons
You would sell your body for drugs
My taxes are higher property is out of sight
And a good portion of you do not speak my language
So yes I am sorry but not in sympathy
I save that for the cities you are destroying with
your sad addictions and that the one thing
You seem to know how to do is continue to breed
You think I am heartless
No i am the one who is facing reality
I am tired of paying for your insanity
