I am an infrequent visitor at Laundromat
But wife is recovering from surgery on ankle
  I offered my services
Next to me was this young mother
  Her child was not happy
Mom was busy so I entertained
Laundry not an expert but Nannie my own grand kids
It would be a wait but machine was loaded
I had one of my favorite human beings giggling beside me
We smiled and winked and played
It is a new practice with me
I have child friendly bills in my pocket
I am not rich but can't take it with me
So Mom gets a dollar or so to start a college fund
There was always a glass filled with change
Surprising how it added up and how quick college was near
  This is my point
A black man walks by smiles at the little Mexican girl
Sees my donation and adds to it
We all visit together as friends
  Downtown there are racial riots
A football player with far more money than me
Sits at the national anthem protesting intolerance
Meanwhile at the children's level we are all getting along
The key is education and getting along with love not hate
And it is not too late to make America great
End the war talking for Heaven sake
