Life's A Candle

trying to be someone you wanted to be
that's what Saturday nights were for
wear that red dress
wear that little vintage black dress
dash right on out the door
and get lost in the night
run away from the darkness of your life
and take a ride in the music
let your body's movement
soothe your mind

dance mad little darling
dance wild and frantic in the fire
because life should be a drug
and you're the candle
and you're burning out
melting down through the floor
and you're feeling
that you're so done
