Do you
still believe
in poetry
with the imagination
of a child
if you could write
with pure perfection
would your verses
drive them wild
could you
scribble down
some sentences
that would make
two lovers cry
do you think
one day
you’ll compose
the piece
they’ll remember
when you die
could mere words
of yours
stop a war
if you could
line them up
just right
could you take apart
man’s darkest sins
create,
an art of write
famous poets
will always
come and go
their names
and works
march on
but me,
you’ll probably
find my words
used as wallpaper
in someone’s
barn…
