Independence
We got our independence
from the foreign powers
But were never governed
justly by the rulers of ours
Rulers who were only bothered
about feathering their own nests
Eroding their own motherland
like termites and such other pests
Rulers who promised the people
big things before the election
Then spent their terms enjoying
their lives till the next election
Rulers who always have their
politically motivated agenda
Who only on the independence
day salute the Tiranga Zanda
But when we see our Tiranga and
sing our national anthem loudly
Our hopes awaken again and we
call ourselves Indians proudly
from the foreign powers
But were never governed
justly by the rulers of ours
Rulers who were only bothered
about feathering their own nests
Eroding their own motherland
like termites and such other pests
Rulers who promised the people
big things before the election
Then spent their terms enjoying
their lives till the next election
Rulers who always have their
politically motivated agenda
Who only on the independence
day salute the Tiranga Zanda
But when we see our Tiranga and
sing our national anthem loudly
Our hopes awaken again and we
call ourselves Indians proudly
