“Today”
Today,
she was so
beautiful
everything about
her
made him
smile,
today
she had to
fix his mistakes
and
as she was
pointing out
his faults
he just smiled
at her
as he bathed
in her presents
unable to hide
the gushing
emotions
he so often
finds himself
swimming in
when ever he’s
around her,
today
he found some
hidden confidence
a relaxed feeling
in her presents
that he was
climbing all over
as it was
helping him
to string together
enough
clever words
to form
a witty sentence
which she
returned for
his effort
with some
impish laughter
elevating
his perfect
moment
with her
to an even
higher
astral plane,
today
she gave him
attention
the kind of
personal time
with her
he loved
to push around
in his mind
when he was
alone
and thinking
of her,
today
she has him
wishing
he could pour
the whole day
in to a
Tupperware
container
and freeze it
pulling it out
to brighten up
one of his
way to common
dark days,
Tomorrow
he’ll probably
choke on his
words
at the sound
of her name,
start getting
nervous
at the mere
thought
of looking into
those emerald
green eyes,
but
Today,
