The Backyard Of My Life

Out Of Yesterday

Its the last picture show
Jumping Judy turned to look
While writing down prayers
In her little red notebook
She said lately I get the feeling
I died while I was dreaming
She blows away the cobwebs
From the cowboy on the silver screen
When out walked the Indian
She couldn't pick between

The hero and the villain
The sinner or the saint
Still crazy after all these years
What a waste of paint
Its the last winter dance
Lonely Linda began to crawl out of the window
Tears blinding her sight it started to snow
She said good riddance to tradition
Am making it my mission
To never settle for anything less
She liked the taste of victory
The sweet smell of success

The righteous and the wicked
The rich or the poor
Still lazy after all these years
Knocking on the cellar door
The Picasso hanging on the wall
The diamond of the golden hall
Its the last night of the circus
Irrational Emily starts to crack
She knows the lion tamer will never bounce back
She said I am dissatisfied with my position and place
Then she bent down to tie her lace
In the house of mirrors she was shocked
To find a treasure chest but it was locked

The good and the evil
The truth or the lie
Still crazy after all these years
But determined to try
Its the last kingdom left
Rebellious Ramona
Burns the map
Leaves no clues sets up a trap
She said I don't know what it is that makes me feel so alive
Its a miracle I managed to survive
like a whispered lullaby
She gave no reason why
She couldn't make up her mind

The hero and the villain
The sinner or the saint
Still crazy after all these years
What a waste of paint
