STAGARD REALITY

It was just the other day
When i would wake up with a broad smile
Draw my window pane
Just to see the beautiful site
Brothers and sisters live in unity
Happy to see the black colour
Yes it was just the other day
When i would wake up and bow
Thanking God for this country
My second mother,kenya my land
Now i feel like a dream
That i don't want it to be true
Rooted on the chair
With my eyes focused on the tv
Waiting for bad or worse news
It's either Jubilee's plane crushed
Or NASA's supporter killed
Such a stagard reality
Someone, somebody, anyone?
There has to be an ear
Willing to hear
The same country that
gave me a reason to appreciate life
Gives me a reason to hate life
Why?
Because,am not sure whether
The next day i will be alive
Or even my neighbour
But as the song goes
Daima mimi mkenya
Mwanainchi mzalendo
Oh God of all creation
Bless this our london nation.

GIFT DOREEN
