the cave of forgotten dreams
i left my heart
somewhere in the middle east
where the sand blows
and nothing grows
but everything lives —-
in peace, in chaos
in the sweetest tragedy
that can only be felt
by those susceptible
to the mark of true humanity —-
love,
it is truly alive
somewhere in the middle east
where tradition reigns
and no one is to blame
for the casualties of war
sought in the name
of love—-
love of culture and terrain
memories and pain
love,
for the brokenness
that unites,
fights
and cascades into
my stagnant state
that is cured only by
love——
but i lost my heart
somewhere in the middle east
buried in the sands
of long lost lands
forever waiting
never expecting
to be heard from,
again ——
