O God, You are my God,
I search for You at dawn;
As my soul thirsts to laud,
But feels like You are gone.
I look in the temple,
Of glory and power;
Worshipping with people,
Praying through each hour.
My lips are praising You,
For Your mercy and grace;
Better life to construe,
Waiting for Your embrace.
I thank You as I live,
As I lift up my hands;
Asking You to forgive,
For Your broken commands.
You satisfy my soul,
With the most richest food;
Helping to reach my goal,
To change my attitude.
My mouth will sing Your praise,
As I lie on my bed;
As nights turn into days,
When holy food is fed.
For You have rendered aid,
Hidden under Your wing;
No longer am afraid,
From comfort that You bring.
My soul clings unto You,
As Your right hand supports;
Showing all that is true,
That someone else distorts.
Foes trying to destroy,
My life as I know it;
Having swords to employ,
Cut through of their merit.
But the king shall rejoice,
Takes an oath in the Lord;
Stop liars with His voice,
That others have abhorred.
