“Obsession”
He knew most
would call it
an obsession
even his best
argument
against such a
strong accusation
still left him
at border line
fascination
but there was
enough from that
thin line
between the
two words
for him to
hide behind
and still call it
love,
but even he
at times
could see his
shadow
was on the
wrong side of
that line
a line that
kept getting
thinner
with each passing
day,
he wasn’t blind
to her defects
she had as
many
as most
though her
frailties
were few,
he spent
way too much
time
thinking about
her
he knew that
but there was
just so much
to think about
he has yet
to get to a
point
where he is
going over
the same material
twice
so yes
he does think
about her
a lot
but that doesn’t
mean it’s an
obsession
or so he would
say,
she has this
unpredictability
as if she is
in battle
against the evils
of normality
she would sooner
fight to the
death
then accept a
compliment
she doesn’t like
her qualities
good or bad
pointed out
by anyone
that alone
would give a
guy
plenty to ponder
but not in a
obsessive way
he would say,
her personality
is beyond
description
it has so many
angles and walls
each time he
thought
he was getting
closer
to understanding
her
he would come
across
a brand new
maze
of personality
traits
and have to
start figuring her
out
all over again,
that’s not an
obsession
just a brand new
equation
that’s going to
require a lot
more work
or that’s what
he’d probably
tell you,
but don’t get
him started
on the simplicity
of her beauty
he has devoted
line after line
trying to find
the right
combination
of thoughts
and words
to describe
the unique and
every changing
look
just in her
eyes,
but he can’t
seem to find
it
and he is
starting to
wonder
if he ever will,
what he wouldn’t
give for that
perfect
string of words
to convey
all the
wondrous
beauty
he sees
every time
she
turns her eyes
in his direction,
and in till
the day he finds
those words
be it through
skill
or luck
or maybe
he just needs
a better
understanding
of this very
unpredictable
woman
with an
ever-changing
personality
and a pair
of indescribable
eyes,
so if he
spends
to much
time
thinking about
her
or just can’t
seem
to keep her
off of his
mind
it’s not an
obsession
he’s just trying
to find that
elusive last line
to an unwritten
poem
yet to be
formed,
or so
that’s what
he’d say…
