The day you are born,
Life you'll adorn,
You'll start learning the lessons of life,
Allow me to warn,
If you ignore scorn,
You'll avoid the brutality of strife.
To see it through,
Let's start with you,
Learn and absorb all you can,
Whatever you pursue,
Make it come true,
As life has a very short span.
When planning your career,
Don't feel fear,
Instead give it plenty of thought,
Be sincere,
While you're here,
Knowledge and respect can't be bought.
With the world connect,
Earn others respect,
Good practice will see you succeed,
You'll know what's correct,
Bad influence reject,
Never be tempted by greed.
When things go wrong,
Remain on song,
Admit you have made a mistake,
It makes you strong,
Knowing where you belong,
Your conscience you must never forsake.
Keep friends at hand,
You must understand,
They will fill you up with delight,
When your enemies disband,
Keep going as planned,
Always keep humility in sight.
That respect you yearn,
You will have to earn,
There'll be times you'll feel under attack
Everything you learn,
Be it joy or discern,
