How long, O Lord will it be?
Will you forget me always?
How long will you hide from me?
I walk through this daily maze.

How long will you hide your face?
Why do I feel Your neglect?
What did I do to disgrace?
Something to lose your respect.

How long must I be alone?
With such sorrow in my heart;
Something You did not condone,
Of Your Law that we did thwart.

How long must I still retreat?
For a win over my foe;
Badly beaten from defeat,
No matter which way I go.

Look at me and answer me,
O Lord, lighten up my eyes;
If I die I will not see,
In exposing the disguise.

What will my enemy say?
Bragging just how he prevailed;
They conquered us as their prey,
Because in battle we failed.

I open my heart and mind,
Enlighten my eyes and ears;
Lest sleep will can make me blind,
From all that causes my fears.

I trust Your mercy and grace,
With joy in Your salvation;
I long to feel Your embrace,
To build a firm foundation.

I trust Your loving kindness,
It rejoices within me;
As it cures me of blindness,
Giving me insight to see.

I will sing to You, O Lord,
For You have been good to me;
You are so loved and adored,
From sin You have set me free.
