Songs of Life
A Prayer For Israel
Let there be calm in the land of the Father,
and may your ancestors rest in peace.
Be it the sleep of an infant undisturbed by the passing of time.
Like pebbles in a stream, all different shapes and colours,
may you go through life striving to smooth your rough edges.
May cool waters vanquish the heat of your passions and allow you the dignity of tolerating your differences.
Allow the winds of change to blow gently over the cities,
mountains and desert sands..
May He give you time to reflect on your fears without fearing your reflections.
May He permit your children to witness that which is best in you,
and not have to bear witness against you.
May He grant you the strength of belief to not feel threatened
by the beliefs of others.
May we be a good memory for our descendants to remember.
This I ask the One Most Holy.
and may your ancestors rest in peace.
