By the light of a love-bug By the light of a love-bug I'm writing to you It's not very bright but it's honest and true There's just enough sparkle to follow my pen To tell you I love you again and again
I'll write that I need you, I'll write right away I'll write until dawn there'll be so much to say I'll write 'til exhausted nay begging for sleep A small price to pay for all you mean to me
I'll write you in prose, acrostic, burlesque I'll write you a sonnet in which I'll express My passion, my ardour, my fervour, my zeal My cup runneth over, my senses they reel
I'll write that I want you, I'll write it again I'll write that I'll love you forever Amen I'll write you a cuddle, a lover's embrace A word fashioned climax to save until late
I'll write you to heaven by means of a star We'll make love on Venus canoodle on Mars And when we get back we can do it again By the light of the love-bug that's sat on my Pen
