Who will harm if devoted, To the Lord while doing good; His Gospel being promoted, By doing the things that you should. But even if you are doing, Things that the Father does approve; You are blessed with your pursuing, Of things that you have to behoove. Do not be afraid of all those, That desire to harm you; Do not get upset what they chose, On rumors that are untrue. Dedicate your life to the Lord, Always be ready to defend; Any mockery be ignored, Even if it just might offend. Keep your confidence in the Lord, Even while asked to explain; And remaining in one accord, Speak calmly for easing the pain. Be gentle and show your respect, As you are making your defense; Have a clear conscience in effect, Not for causing any offence. You live a life feeling ashamed, Contempt when hearing ridicule; Suffering from what you proclaimed, And continue to remain cool. Jesus suffered for our sin, And He was an innocent man, But for cleansing us deep within, Being part of God and His plan. Christ had suffered for our guilt, For a victory to proclaim; So that salvation could be built, Allowing us free from the shame. Copyright © 2017 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
