Poetic Verses
The Ones You Snub
You're known as a top-notch businessman
And leader in your church
A man of some distinction who
Assumes a lofty perch.
But you had snubbed a friend of mine
Who put you in your place
And when you did the same to me
It was like you slapped my face.
I know you feel importance
And taxing it must be
To find yourself on equal plane
With commoners like me.
You might say I'm mistaken
But it's no coincidence
That I am not the only one
Who sees through your pretense.
So now I view you differently
Yes, you lost my respect
Because it seems you've only time
For those of your elect.
You disgust me so, and with that said
I have advice for you
Consider that the ones you snub
Might be God's children too!
And leader in your church
A man of some distinction who
Assumes a lofty perch.
But you had snubbed a friend of mine
Who put you in your place
And when you did the same to me
It was like you slapped my face.
