“The Truth”

He looked into
her eyes
trying to find
what she didn’t
want to tell
him
still unsure
if he really
wanted to know
what
she was hiding
behind the
green

and blue
looking back
at him,
he could be
made
to believe
anything
when she
looked
at him
that way
he wanted
her
words to be
true
more than she
cared
about her lies
being real
which in a
way
made them
even
more
believable,
he watched
as she took
five measured
strides
across the
room
looking over
her right
shoulder
as she made
her turn
giving him
just enough
of
a smile
and a gaze
to make him
forget
he had ever
even doubted
her
and if he
still did
he lied to
himself
and pretended
he forgot,
he didn’t really
want to know
the truth
he feels foolish
for even
questioning
her
standing up
for
truth
but then
hiding
from it’s
reality,
he wouldn’t
look
for it again
searching her
eyes
for some trace
of a lie
he didn’t really
want
an answer
to
he knew better
then treading on
fatal ground
he couldn’t lose
her
he just
couldn’t,
how important
is the truth
anyways…
