On the Minnesota Lake ICE
we couldn't wait on early Winter to freeze it solid so we could entertain a Minnesota kids greatest vice

For it seemed every waking minute
a Minnesota kid, out ice skating all day long on the ice they would BE IN it

We would race and try our best to win
on the frozen lake with a cold chilly wind

We would play tag
and flag football on ice skates with a red flag

We played Pom Pom pull--away
and it got pretty rough and tumble in every way

We played king of the hill
and to be the last Minnesota kid standing atop a huge snow mound was a super thrill

We would ice skate to exhaustion
on the MINNESOTA. LAKES, we had so much ice skating---GREAT--GREAT--GREAT---FUN

So much exercise we had as Minnesota kids, in the Winter time
our only rule was to be HOME, for super and night time
