My heart heard him

Where he came from I don't know. He said

He was a messenger. An incredibly calm

Figure in white who gave me no reason to

Disbelieve him. He spoke of loneliness and

Desolation and said he knew of my distress

Friends? What friends did you really have?

Did they stick by you? Where are they today?

Would that you had pressed them thus:

Speak without forethought, put your palm to

Your breast, feel your heart, then tell me you

Think of me... And the silence was

Deafening

If you are lonely come this way. Take my

Hand and let us sit quietly for a while. There

Is no need for sudden alarm, my aim is to

Be your companion, your guardian against

Loneliness and your comfort in dark times

There are countless reasons why you should

Not to be lonely but like so many time has tired

Your followers and they have drifted away. A

Centre of attraction has become an island of

Sorrow, a deserted place of few visitors and

Even fewer who bother to recall

But, let us not judge the past, we have the

Future at our disposal and time to rejoice in

The mountain of love that remains. There is

Much in this world worthy of your attention

Look up instead of down, smile instead of

Frown and cast off the garments that no

Longer fit. You have a worth in this world

And what you once were you will be again

Peace will come soon enough and I will guard

You until we meet again in another place in

Another time. Take comfort in the fact that you

Are on a journey that has no end and you will

Not be lonely forever for I will always be with

You

And with that he was gone and with him went

Loneliness. Was he an angel or was he a Ghost?

I think perhaps both, but it matters not save that

He spoke to my heart and my heart heard him
