The Night of ChristmasIt's the night of Christmas I didn't get a thing The family all forgot me No carols did they sing I didn't get a present Just a bunch of air They went on with their living I guess they just don't care Although I blessed them richly I gave them a new home I healed them in their sickness I heard them when they moaned I never left them hungry I gave them food to eat Provided them with clothing The shoes upon their feet I wonder if they know me How much I love them so I came to earth to save them I wish they'd come to know That if they would invite me Into all their hearts That is when they'd notice How blessed they truly are It's the night of Christmas The celebration ends The presents have been opened They're ready for a rest Tomorrow is a new day They get on with their lives It's sad that they've forgotten Their savior Jesus Christ Copyright ©2017 Marvin H Lane Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
