Give thanks to the Lord, Because He is good; Worshipped and adored, Praising as we should. His mercy endures, Forever and a day; As you love matures, To trust and obey. The Lord defended, Repeating these words; Though some offended, For being cowards. Cowards that were foes, From the west and east; Where the evil flows, Eating wild beast. They wandered around, No one takes pity; Nothing could be found, In any city. They hunger and thirst, Began to lose hope; Being as the worst, Unable to cope. Within their distress, Cried unto the Lord; To rescue and bless, Salvation assured. God showed them the road, For mercy and grace; Has constantly flowed, Where He would embrace. Now in a good mood, With plenty of drink; Nourished with good food, Thankfulness to think. Copyright © 2017 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
