Back to basics is what I must do
Back to where I first felt you
Back to basics where it all began
Back to when you was closer than my best friend
Growing up in this world can be tough at times
Lord you know patience has never been a friend of mine
No matter how long it takes
No matter how much my heart may break
On this path is where I will stay
Trusting you to lead the way
For you are the one who made the mountains and the trees
For you are the only one that can break the chains that are surrounding me
Death could not hold you for you rose again on the third day
You are the only one who knows the right way
You are more than just a savior to me; you created me and know every part of me
Your power and wisdom is are higher that mind
You have been right here with me through both the good and bad times
So matter how strong the wind may blow
No matter what direction I must go
I have my lord and savior as my starting foundation
I am the daughter of a kind and the God of all creation
I am the daughter of the God who rules the nations
So back to basic is where I must be
