My part-time paramour

I'm walking into darkness, a darkness without end

Not only have I lost a love, I've also lost a friend

My heart is sorely aching, my step confused and slow

It's teardrop time in paradise, heaven-sent on hold

I'm walking into limbo, a cold place in between

In between the hobs of Hell and a nightmare of a dream

But this is not a nightmare it's real and in 3D

And I must bow my head tonight before I try to sleep

I pray that she'll be happy on whatever path she takes

A path that leads away from me and to a better place

And in that better place I pray that love will come along

And give her all the care she needs the care that I could not

Our love although desiring fell short when shadows fell

We both found satisfaction when out with someone else

But now the hour of sweet release has come I'm not so sure

That I can live without my lovely part-time paramour
