The Measure of Faith

There's no doubt that some of us do pray amiss...
I believe  many Christians are guilty of this.
No, God won't be angry because He knows every heart,
Every hope, every need, every wish from the start.

But, I would surmise that He wishes that we
Would study and learn His Word carefully...
Because to know Him is to know what He's already done...
So why should we pray for what has already come?

I am guilty of praying my faith would increase
Rather than doubt and disbelief would just cease!
Because He's already dealt me a measure of faith
I have all that I need, so there's no need to await

A gift that God has already presented
Maybe asking for more shows a lack not intended.
For if we're walking by faith and not walking by sight
Then our spiritual eyes should be bathed in Light.

This measure of faith will help us to amass
A belief in God's Word before it comes to pass.
Remember, without faith, God cannot be pleased...
Yet, with it, each doubt of our own can be eased.

A mustard seed faith is what Jesus is teaching
And, surely, for it,  each one of us should be reaching.
Remember, the mustard seed cannot be mixed...
So doubt and unbelief must surely be nixed!

I'm not saying that measure of faith cannot grow
For "faith cometh by hearing," the Bible says so.
Growth is essential and preachers take part
Of stirring the top soil of faith in each heart.

There is nothing that will make faith sicker than doubt...
For doubt lets error in and tries chasing Truth out.
There is much to consider and so much more to guard.
This measure of faith is The Father's reward

For returning To Him through the Cross of His Son...
For turning toward faith, rather than  being turned from.
Encourage each other...help one another to see
That this measure of faith will last eternally

~~ Dedicated to Pastor Wanda~~
(Thank you for the great sermon on faith)

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1)

"According as God hath dealt to every man
the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3).

"But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek him" (Hebrews 11:6)
"For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God"
(Ephesians 2:8).

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing
by the word o f God" (Romans 10:17).

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief:
for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of
mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence
to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be
 impossible unto you.
 (Mathew 17:20)
