Childhood Memories

I sip my tea and slip back to a happy memory.

A time in my life when living was so much simpler.

A child who lived in a fantasy world of her own.

In a land where fairies and elves dwelt.

I love that memory of our English gardener and his tales.

how he made my life come alive with dreams.

on his days off, I'd visit my tadpole pond, fairies riding their backs

such an impressionable child...such a lonely child.

I lived in England for three glorious years.

fell in love with a young prince and princess.

soon to become Queen of my little kingdom.

I'd find myself traveling back to those years constantly.

Missing the grand dreams of a young girl.

An impressionable child....a very lonely child.

As the years keep passing by.....I find myself

wanting to go home.
